According to a Forbes poll of 65 billionaires throughout the world, approximately 30% of them have invested in cryptocurrencies directly or indirectly, a larger ratio than non-billionaire investors. In a March NBC News poll of 1,000 Americans, 20% said they have invested in, traded, or used cryptocurrency.
Approximately 18% of the billionaires polled claimed they had at least 1% of their fortune in cryptocurrencies, with 3.2 percent saying they had more than half of their wealth in cryptocurrencies.
Another 10% indicated they didn’t invest directly in cryptocurrencies but backed cryptocurrency-related businesses. One of the billionaires who took part in the anonymous survey was FTX co-founder and CEO SBF, who indicated that cryptocurrencies account for between 76% and 100% of his $20.6 billion net worth.
