Those waiting for musician Kanye West’s non fungible tokens (NFTs) were probably singing, “I need you to hurry up now, because I can’t wait much longer.” West, who had previously distanced himself from NFTs, could be joining the fast-growing sector in response to such requests.
What Happened: West has filed trademark applications for his Yeezus brand in a variety of product categories. The new categories are highlighted in a trademark filing submitted by trademark attorney Josh Gerben of Gerben Law on Twitter.
The trademark was used on 17 various items under the Yeezus moniker, including amusement parks, household goods, toys, cosmetics, and physical and online retail outlets.
“Blockchain-based currencies and non-fungible tokens” was one of the more intriguing topics cited in the file, implying that Kanye West’s cryptocurrencies and NFTs could be here soon.
