Using novel techniques
Latinos are more adaptable and eager to use new payment methods on a daily basis than Americans and Europeans. 86 percent of Latinos have used a new payment method at least once, such as biometrics, digital currency, a code QR, etc., compared to more than 75 percent of cryptocurrency users in Europe and America who prefer to use traditional payment methods.
The Executive Vice President of Mastercard Latin America and the Caribbean stated, “The future of payments is already here,” in response to Latinos’ interest in cryptocurrency. With a whopping 95% planning to use a digital payment method in the upcoming year and 29% admitting to using less cash in the previous year, Latin Americans are increasingly turning to technology to accomplish their financial transactions, and this trend is anticipated to continue rising.
